Parallel interface The printer uses a bidirectional parallel interface for high-speed data transmission for the host computer. This interface includes the buffers which are compatible with the IEEE 1284 standards. The parallel interface provides support for the ECP and nibble modes in this standards. The parallel interface mode can be changed by commanding Prescribe commands on a PC. Selecting the parallel interface mode To change the parallel interface mode, use the menu selection from the operator panel as the following steps: LCD message display Ready PAR A4 Press the key. MENU Enter main menu Print Menu Map Press the key. Print Status Page Press the key. Enter sub menu Interface > Parallel Press the key. >Parallel I/F Auto Press the key. ENTER >Parallel I/F ?Auto >Parallel I/F ?Normal >Parallel I/F ?High Speed >Parallel I/F ?Nibble (high) Mode select Press the or key. Mode set Press the key. ENTER Press the key. MENU The parallel interface mode is also change with a method from the running MS-DOS PC. Connect the printer to the PC via the parallel interface. Then, at the DOS prompt, type a FRPO O0 (the letter O and the number zero) command as follows depending on the desired parallel mode: To set the parallel interface mode...
