DINQUIRE Command The DINQUIRE command is used to get the information of the default value of a specific variable in the PJL Environment. (User Default Settings). It is also possible to get the value for variables which PJL cannot change (Read-only). The returned value of User Default Settings is identical to the Control Panel Setting. This DINQUIRE command can request only one variable at a time. If you would like to get information from more variables, send multiple DINQUIRE commands. Syntax: @PJL DINQUIRE [LPARM : personality] variable [] Response Syntax: @PJL DINQUIRE [LPARM : personality] variable value If the variable is not supported by the printer, it returns the response in the following syntax : @PJL DINQUIRE [LPARM : personality] variable "?" • LPARM : personality This optional parameter must be used when requesting information about printer language-specific variables such as the font number in the User Default setting. • variable Variable is a parameter which specifies what you would like to get the information about among the User Default settings (User Default Environment). The valid variables are listed in the following tables. • value Value is the returned value for the requested variable. See the following tables to learn about values for specific variables.
