Detects skewing that occurs in documents during document transport and in scanned images and corrects it. Hint The deskew function may not operate properly in the following cases. In such cases, disable the deskew function. (Even in cases other than the following, skewing in documents may not be properly corrected and portions may be cut off in the scanned image depending on the document.) • When scanning documents with dark edges • When scanning glossy or reflective documents Background smoothing Processes the scanned image so that the background is smooth.
