Turning On the Power, Setting the Language, Date, and Time

Turning On the Power To turn on the power, slide the power switch down, as shown below, and release it. After a few seconds the ACCESS light flashes orange briefly and then the Main Menu appears. (See page 21 for more information about the menu.) ACCESS light Note: It may take 5 or 10 seconds for the power to come on. Setting the Language, Date, and Time When you turn on the P-1000 the first time, you see the language setting screen: Language Setting Language Deutsch Espanol English Fran ais Italiano Portugues Press OK to select and return to the previous screen. Press cancel to disregard the selection. Note: If you see the Main Menu instead, the language has already been selected. To change it or check the date and time, select Settings from the Main Menu. Then select Language Setting and follow the instructions below. 1 Press l, r, u, or d on the arrow button to select the language you want. Then press the OK button. Getting Started 16
