To change default settings in the printer driver 1 From the Windows desktop, do one of the following: • Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows 2000: Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Printers. • Windows XP: Click Start, and then click Printers and Faxes. Or, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Printers and Faxes. 2 Right-click the printer icon, and then choose the option for your operating system: • Windows 98 and Windows Me: Click Properties. • Windows NT 4.0: Click Document Defaults or Properties. • Windows 2000 and Windows XP: Click Printing Preferences or Properties. 3 Change the desired settings, and then click OK. Changing settings in Mac OS You can change printer settings from the Page Setup and Print dialog boxes in Mac OS, or from the control panel. Settings in Mac OS override settings in the control panel. You can also select the default printer. The default printer is the one that is used if you choose the Print command without first specifying which printer you want to use with an application. The default printer should be the printer that you use most often. For more information about changing printer settings, see the Mac Help on your computer. To change page setup settings 1 Open the document you want to print. 2 On the File menu, click Page Setup. 3 From the Format for pop-up menu, select the printer for which you want to format the document, and then change the desired settings (such as the page size). 4 On the Paper pop-up menu in Mac OS 9 (9.1 and later) or the Paper Size pop-up menu in Mac OS X (10.1 and later), select the media size on which you want to print. 5 Click OK. To change print settings 1 Open the document you want to print. 2 On the File menu, click Print. 3 Select the location of the media or the type of media on which you want to print: • Mac OS 9 (9.1 and later): On the pop-up menu, select General. Click All pages from, and then select the media source or the media type. • Mac OS X (10.1 and later): On the pop-up menu, select Paper Feed. Click All pages from, and then select the media source. Select Printer Features to change the media type. 4 Change any other settings (such as the print quality). 5 Click Print. ENWW 3-9
