Log off all users. Back-up files. Follow instructions in your network operating system (NOS) documentation to gracefully shut down all networking software and applications. 2. Press the power switch on the HP NetServer's control panel when prompted by the operating system. Normally, this is the complete procedure. NOTE The power supplies continue to provide standby current to the NetServer until the power cable is disconnected. 3. Disconnect the power cables and signal cables, and if necessary, label them to support reassembly. 4. Swing the front bezel open, or remove it entirely. See Chapter 3 for details. 5. On the front of the HP NetServer, locate the the LCD display. On top of the display's housing is a small handle. With one finger, pull up on this handle. The LCD display should move up about ½ inch and stop. See Figure 5-6. NOTE If you do not push the LCD display up and out of the way, you cannot remove the panel that covers the memory bays. 40

Removing and Replacing the Memory Board
To remove the memory board, follow this procedure:
1.
Log off all users. Back-up files. Follow instructions in your network
operating system (NOS) documentation to gracefully shut down all
networking software and applications.
2.
Press the power switch on the HP NetServer’s control panel when
prompted by the operating system. Normally, this is the complete
procedure.
NOTE
The power supplies continue to provide standby current to the
NetServer until the power cable is disconnected.
3.
Disconnect the power cables and signal cables, and if necessary, label
them to support reassembly.
4.
Swing the front bezel open, or remove it entirely. See Chapter 3 for
details.
5.
On the front of the HP NetServer, locate the the LCD display. On top of
the display’s housing is a small handle. With one finger, pull up on this
handle. The LCD display should move up about ½ inch and stop. See
Figure 5-6.
