Chapter 3 - Use the Scanner EAN/UPC Settings and Descriptions (Continued) Setting Description Add-on 2 digits active Enables or disables transmission of the two-digit add-on (when present). Default is disabled. Add-on 5 digits active Enables or disables transmission of the five-digit add-on (when present). Default is disabled. Add-on security Value that increases the odds that the scanner will read add-on digits encoded in the bar code. Range is 0 to 100. Default is 10. Setting this parameter to 100 (the highest value) does not guarantee that the imager will read the add-on digits. Reading range Sets the reading range. Options include: • Normal • Extended (default) Transmit UPC-A as Enables or disables transmission of UPC-A as EAN-13 EAN-13. Default is disabled. Transmit UPC-E as Enables or disables transmission of UPC-E as UPC-A UPC-A. Default is disabled. Transmit EAN-8 as Enables or disables transmission of EAN-8 as EAN-13 EAN-13. Default is disabled. GTIN compliant Enables or disables GTIN compliance. Default is disabled. UPC-A UPC-A Options Setting Number system transmission Check digit User defined symbology ID Code mark Description Enables or disables transmission of the UPC-A number system character. Default is enabled. Enables or disables reading the check digit. Default is enabled. Sets the symbology ID for UPC-A. Range is 1 to 4 ASCII characters. \xFF is not supported. Default is A0.
