Chapter 3 - Use the Scanner Intelligent Mail Settings This section lists all configurable settings for decoding the Intelligent Mail symbology. Intelligent Mail Settings and Descriptions Setting User defined symbology ID Code mark Description Sets the symbology ID for Intelligent Mail. Range is 1 to 4 ASCII characters. \xFF is not supported. Default is PA. A one-character code mark that serves as an identifier for Intelligent Mail. Default is *. Interleaved 2 of 5 Settings This section lists all configurable settings for decoding the Interleaved 2 of 5 symbology. Interleaved 2 of 5 Settings and Descriptions Setting Description Verify check digit Transmit check digit Reading range Enables or disables the optional check digit for a higher level of security. Default is disabled. Enables or disables transmission of the check digit as part of the bar code data. Default is disabled. Sets the reading range. Options include: • Normal • Extended (default) Reading tolerance Sets the quality of the bar code that the scanner reads. Options include: • High (default): Makes it easier to scan low quality bar codes. • Medium • Low: Bar codes must be high quality to be read.
