Chapter 3 - Use the Scanner Trigger and Aimer Mode Settings (Continued) Setting Description Trigger mode Sets the behavior of the scanner when you press the Scan button: • Level (default): The scanner turns on and stays on until you release the Scan button. • Pulse: The scanner turns on and stays on until the end of the trigger timeout. • Flashing: The scanner turns on and stays on while looking for a bar code to read. At the end of the trigger timeout, the beam starts flashing. When the scanner reads a bar code, it restarts the trigger timeout. If you press the Scan button again, the scanner turns off. • Autostand: Switches between Level and Flashing modes. The first time you press the Scan button, the scanner turns on in Flashing mode. To switch to Level mode, press the Scan button again. • Toggle: The scanner turns on and stays on, and does not read a bar code until you release the Scan button. Aimer mode Enables or disables the aimer activation feature. Options include: • Typical aimer • One pull aim and read • One pull aim, second pull read Turn off Defines how the scanner operates when you press Scan to read a after bar code. Options include: good read • Disable/Auto-trigger: Press Scan once to scan a series of bar codes. When you release the Scan button, the scanner turns off. To scan the same bar code more than once, you must release the button, read a different bar code before trying a second read, or wait until the identical consecutive timeout is over. • Enable/One-shot: You must press Scan each time you want to read a bar code.
