Connections Connectors CAUTION Before connecting the Clavinova to other electronic components, turn off the power to all the components. Before turning the power on or off to all components, set all volume levels to minimum (0). Otherwise, electrical shock or damage to the components may result. Refer to the "Panel Controls" (page 10) for the location of the connectors. On the left of the control panel CLP-470/440/430/465GP (On the bottom of the instrument) Front (keyboard side) Left (lower-key side) Right (higher-key side) Left (lower-key side) CLP-S408/S406 (On the front of the instrument) Right (higher-key side)  [USB TO DEVICE] terminal This terminal allows connection to USB storage devices. Refer to "Connecting a USB storage device" on page 47 for more information.  USB [TO HOST] terminal This terminal allows direct connection to a computer. Refer to "Connecting to a computer" on page 48 for more information.  MIDI [IN] [OUT] [THRU] terminals Use MIDI cables to connect external MIDI devices to these connectors. Refer to "Connecting external MIDI devices" on page 50 for more information.  AUX OUT [L/L+R][R] jacks These jacks let you connect the Clavinova to external powered speaker systems, for playing in larger venues at higher volumes. The Clavinova's [MASTER VOLUME] setting will affect the sound that is output from the AUX OUT jacks. When the Clavinova's AUX OUT jacks are connected to an external speaker and you want to turn off the speaker sound of the Clavinova, switch the speaker OFF (page 17). NOTE There are two different types of USB terminals on the instrument: [USB TO DEVICE] and USB [TO HOST]. Take care not to confuse the two terminals and the corresponding cable connectors. [USB TO DEVICE] terminal
This terminal allows connection to USB storage devices. Refer to
“Connecting a USB storage device” on page 47 for more information.

This terminal allows direct connection to a computer. Refer to
“Connecting to a computer” on page 48 for more information.

These jacks let you connect the Clavinova to external powered speaker
