Server ports are connected to DHCP servers or other switches, and the Switch discards DHCP packets from trusted ports only if the rate at which DHCP packets arrive is too high. Untrusted ports are connected to subscribers, and the Switch discards DHCP packets from these ports in the following situations: • The packet is a DHCP server packet (for example, OFFER, ACK, or NACK). • The source MAC address and source IP address in the packet do not match any of the current bindings. • The packet is a RELEASE or DECLINE packet, and the source MAC address and source port do not match any of the current bindings. • The rate at which DHCP packets arrive is too high. Select All Click this to set all ports as server ports. Deselect All Click this to deselect all ports that are set as server ports. Apply Click this to save any changes to the Switch. Refresh Click this to reload the screen and reset any changes that were just made. DHCP Snooping State This field displays the current status of the DHCP snooping feature, Enabled or Disabled. Enabled on VLAN This field displays the VLAN IDs that have DHCP snooping enabled on them. This will display None if no VLANs have been set. Server Ports This field displays the ports which have been set as server ports. Port Settings
Use this screen to define the maximum number of hosts allowed to simultaneously
connect to each port. Each host that successfully acquires an IP address from a
