CHAPTER 11 LAN 11.1 Overview This chapter describes how to configure LAN settings. A Local Area Network (LAN) is a shared communication system to which many computers are attached. A LAN is a computer network limited to the immediate area, usually the same building or floor of a building. The LAN screens can help you configure a LAN DHCP server, manage IP addresses, and partition your physical network into logical networks. Figure 71 LAN Example The LAN screens can help you manage IP addresses. 11.2 What You Can Do • Use the IP screen (Section 11.4 on page 102) to change the IP address for your WAP3205 and DNS server information. • Use the IP Alias screen (Section 11.5 on page 103) to have the WAP3205 apply IP alias to create LAN subnets. 11.3 What You Need To Know There are two separate IP networks, one inside the LAN network and the other outside the WAN network as shown next.
