Note • If you change the size or position of the patterns when making an appliqué, make a note of the size and the location. Method 1 You can use framed patterns of the same size and shape to create an appliqué. Embroider one pattern with a straight stitch and one pattern with a satin stitch. a Select a straight pattern onto the stitch frame pattern. Embroider the fabric for the appliqué piece, then cut neatly around the outside of the shape. Method 2 5 a Select a straight stitch frame pattern, the pattern onto the base fabric. and embroider ADVANCED EMBROIDERY b Embroider the base fabric. same pattern from step a onto the c Apply two-sided stabilizer material to the back of the fabric for the appliqué piece created in step a. Attach the appliqué to the base fabric matching the shapes. b Place the fabric embroidered in for the appliqué piece over step a and embroider the the pattern same pattern on the fabric for the appliqué piece. * Be sure that the fabric for the appliqué piece completely covers the stitched line. 155
