CONNECTING THE ACCESSORY TO THE MACHINE CONNECTING THE ACCESSORY TO THE MACHINE WINDING/INSTALLING THE BOBBIN Using a USB Mouse A USB mouse, connected to the machine, can be used to perform a variety of operations in the screens. Connect a USB mouse to the USB port. Memo • Use a basic computer mouse to operate the machine functions. Some USB mouse devices may not be compatible with this machine. 1 USB port a 2 USB mouse b Note • The left mouse button can be used to perform operations such as choosing a design and choosing menu keys. • The mouse pointer does not appear in the screen saver or opening screen.  Clicking a Key When the mouse is connected, the pointer appears on the screen. Move the mouse to position the pointer over the desired key, and then click the left mouse button. Memo • Double-clicking has no effect. Winding the Bobbin IMPORTANT • Use the plastic bobbins that came with this machine or bobbins of the same type: 11.5 mm (approx. 7/16 inch) plastic Class 15 (A style) bobbins, which are available from your Brother dealer.  Using the Supplemental Spool Pin With this machine, you can wind the bobbin during sewing. While using the main spool pin to sew or embroider, you can conveniently wind the bobbin using the supplemental spool pin. a 1 Supplemental spool pin a Turn the main power to ON and open the top cover. b Align the groove in the bobbin with the spring on the bobbin winder shaft, and set the bobbin on the shaft. 1 Pointer 1 a b 1 Groove in the bobbin 2 Spring on the bobbin winder shaft c Place the spool of thread for the cap onto the supplemental spool bobbin pin. and the spool Slide the spool onto the supplemental spool pin so that the thread unwinds to the front from the bottom. Using a USB Mouse
A USB mouse, connected to the machine, can be used to
perform a variety of operations in the screens. Connect a USB
mouse to the USB port.
Clicking a Key
When the mouse is connected, the pointer appears on the
screen. Move the mouse to position the pointer over the
desired key, and then click the left mouse button.

Using the Supplemental Spool Pin
With this machine, you can wind the bobbin during
sewing. While using the main spool pin to sew or
embroider, you can conveniently wind the bobbin using
the supplemental spool pin.
