Getting Started 1-3 Software Requirements The following software is required to install and run HMU: Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT installed on the 32-bit PC that will serve as the management console. Service Pack level 3 (or higher) is required on Windows NT 4.0. IMPORTANT: If the program is running under Windows 95, you should have a version of COMCTL32.DLL no older than 5/19/97 and you should have winsock2.dll installed. Earlier versions do not contain support for the common controls that are used in HMU. These updates are available from the Microsoft support area at www.microsoft.com. The HMU Installation CD-ROM Installation Procedure The steps listed below should be followed when installing HMU. If you are installing HMU for the first time 1. Check that the display settings for your monitor are for small fonts. You do this by clicking the Windows Start button and selecting Settings, then Control Panel. 2. Next click the Display icon and click the Settings tab. Finally, click on the Advanced button. The font size is shown on the General tab of the advanced features. Select Small Fonts if this setting is not selected. 3. Close other Windows programs that may be running on the PC. 4. Insert the HMU CD-ROM. (If your CD-ROM has auto-run enabled, and the HMU setup dialog box appears, click the close button and continue following the steps below). 5. From the Start button, select Settings, Control Panel. 6. Open Add/Remove Programs. 7. Click the Install button. 8. Follow the onscreen instructions that will execute the SETUP.EXE file. You must acknowledge the license agreement. The application will be installed in "C:\Program Files\Compaq\HMU" by default, unless a different path is given.

Software Requirements
The following software is required to install and run HMU:
