A LIP(F7,x) is an FC_AL primitive sequence that a device transmits when it is requesting loop initialization. A count of the number of Loop Initialization Primitives (F8,x) that have been detected on the loop since the interconnect devices were last reset. A LIP(F8,x) is an FC_AL primitive sequence that a device transmits when it is requesting loop initialization. A LIP(F8,,x) differs from a LIP(F7,x) that the LIP(F8,x) is sent by a device that has detected a failure on the loop. A count of the number of selective reset primitives LIP(y,x) that have been detected on the loop, since the interconnect devices were last reset. A selective reset primitive is used to request a loop initialization and to request that the "y" (or destination device) perform a vendor-specific reset. A count of the number of Fibre Channel Closes (CLS) that have been detected on the loop, since the interconnect devices were last reset. A Close is sent by a device to terminate a loop circuit. A count of the number of Loop Port Bypass (y,x) Primitives that have been detected on the loop since the interconnect devices were last reset. A Loop Port Bypass is sent from a device to force another device's Loop Port State Machine to bypass itself. continued
