C Appendix Configuring the Management Module The management module (HMM) needs to be configured only once, when first installed. However, as the Fibre Channel grows, it might be desirable to change parameters and settings. In addition, new releases of the HMM's firmware will need to be installed as they become available. All these actions require interaction with the firmware. In this appendix we cover the most common firmware parameters, particularly those needed for the initial set up of the HMM. Downloading new firmware is covered in Appendix B, "Updating the Firmware." A connection to the HMM must be established before proceeding with module configuration. If this has not taken place, see Compaq Storage Hub 12 Management Module installation instructions, included with your user documentation. The first step is to reset the hub. This can be done by either powering up the hub or pressing the reset button. The Compaq Storage Hub 12 hub will run several self-tests as shown in the figure below. Figure C-1. Hub Self-Tests
