If the Fault LED goes on, the fans or the hub may be faulty or the temperature may be out of limits. Check that the GBICs are properly inserted. Check the port status LEDs. They will be generated by the hub self-tests and would display immediately following the tests. The syntax is nnnn /* xxxxxx */ where nnnn = a 4-digit number and xxxxxx is a text string. Some are just informational while others may indicate a problem that should be checked. The section below lists them in numerical order. In most cases, they are accompanied by a brief explanation of the message followed by suggested action.
