Managing from Hub 12 Management Utilities GUI Menu Screen 2-27 Save Topological Data Any time during a HMU session, topology can be saved to the HMU.dat archive file. To save the current topology, click on File, Save Topological Data. If a save is not performed, topological data will be saved automatically whenever HMU is closed. NOTE: Click anywhere on the SAN View dialog box and select Save Topological Changes from the Context Menu. Clear An Event Page To clear the contents from a current session's event log: 1. Select File, Clear Event Page from the menu bar. 2. Click OK. Exit Clicking Exit saves the topology data, closes it and other files, then performs an orderly shutdown of HMU SAN Manager. View The Current Event Log Each time HMU starts, the Event Log is initialized. As events occur in a HMU session, they will be displayed on the Event Log page under the Event Log tab. Events can include a change in port status, hub environment changes, loss/ resumption of IP communication, or a change to the hierarchical view when a managed device is removed. The current events are written to the archive log (HMU.log) as they occur. To view the current session's events in HMU, do the following from a SAN View screen: 1. Click the Event Log tab. The Event Log tab will display the Event Log information as shown in the figure below. 2. Right click over an event to display an Event Context Menu item, Find device in topological view. 3. The display will toggle to View Devices By Connection. Highlight the responsible device, if it is still present.

Save Topological Data
Any time during a HMU session, topology can be saved to the HMU.dat

. If a save is not performed, topological data will be saved automatically
whenever HMU is closed.
NOTE:
Click anywhere on the SAN View dialog box and select
Save Topological Changes

Clear An Event Page
To clear the contents from a current session’s event log:
1.
Select
File, Clear Event Page
from the menu bar.
2.
Click
OK
.
Exit
Clicking
Exit
saves the topology data, closes it and other files, then performs
an orderly shutdown of HMU SAN Manager.
View The Current Event Log
Each time HMU starts, the Event Log is initialized. As events occur in a HMU
session, they will be displayed on the Event Log page under the Event Log tab.
Events can include a change in port status, hub environment changes, loss/
resumption of IP communication, or a change to the hierarchical view when a
managed device is removed. The current events are written to the archive log
(HMU.log) as they occur. To view the current session’s events in HMU, do the
following from a SAN View screen:

Click the

tab. The Event Log tab will display the Event Log
information as shown in the figure below.

Right click over an event to display an Event
