Drives Using Drive Media Avoiding Standby and Hibernation Ä CAUTION: To prevent possible video degradation and loss of audio or video playback functionality, do not initiate Standby or Hibernation while using drive media. Turn off a drive medium before initiating Standby or Hibernation. A drive medium is any storage device that can be inserted into drive; for example, a diskette, disk, CD, or DVD. If Standby or Hibernation is accidentally initiated while a medium is in use: 1. Briefly press the power button to exit Standby or Hibernation. 2. Restart the notebook. Displaying Media Contents Autorun, sometimes called autoplay or auto insert notification, is a feature of the operating system. Autorun displays the contents of a drive medium on the screen whenever you insert the medium into a drive and, if you are using an optical drive, close the tray. A drive medium is any storage device that can be inserted into a drive; for example, a diskette, disk, CD, or DVD. Autorun is enabled at the factory, but can be disabled. Hardware Guide 4-15
