Audio and Video Using the Volume Control Icon In Windows 2000 Professional, the Windows volume control icon is displayed on the taskbar. To display the icon in Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional: 1. Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices. 2. Select the Volume tab. 3. Select the check box for Place Volume Icon in the Task Bar. 4. Select the OK button. To adjust volume using the volume control icon, select the icon on the taskbar, then: ■ To increase or decrease volume, click the slide bar, then drag it upward or downward. ■ To mute or restore volume, select or clear the Mute check box. 5-2 Hardware Guide

Using the Volume Control Icon
In Windows 2000 Professional, the Windows volume control
icon is displayed on the taskbar. To display the icon in
Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional:
1. Select Start > Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio
Devices > Sounds and Audio Devices.
2. Select the Volume tab.
3.Select the check box for Place Volume Icon in the Task Bar.
4. Select the OK button.
To adjust volume using the volume control icon, select the icon
on the taskbar, then:

To increase or decrease volume, click the slide bar, then drag
it upward or downward.

To mute or restore volume, select or clear the Mute
check box.
