Introduction EXT: Uses the external time code input from the TIME CODE IN connector or VITC, SLTC or SVITC video input signals. Select in setup menu No. 507 (EXT TC SEL). 5. SUPER switch Switches the super output as follows. ON: OFF: Outputs superimposed data such as time codes to the LCD monitor, SD SDI MON connector or the ANALOG VIDEO MON connector. Does not output any superimposed information. 6. REC INH switch Select to enable or disable recording to P2 cards. ON: OFF: The REC INH lamp on the display panel lights indicating that recording is disabled. Turns off the REC INH function to enable P2 card recording. 10.COUNTER button Press to switch the counter display of the LCD panel. Each press of this button changes the counter display as follows: [CTL (relative position from the beginning)] ➝ [TC (read time code)] ➝ [UB (user bit of the read time code)]. 11.SEARCH button Press this button to engage the search mode. Set the search dial to the SHTL mode, turn it to the desired position and press this button to start playback at the speed set with the search dial. 12.Search dial Use to search and check video. Each time you press the dial, the SHTL (Shuttle)/SLOW mode and the JOG mode are engaged alternatively. The respective indicator lamp lights. When the power is turned on, the search dial will not operate unless it is first returned to the STILL position. 7. STOP switch Press to select signals in stop mode. PB: Outputs signals played back from a P2 card. EE: Outputs input signals selected with the VIDEO IN (SHIFT + EDIT MODE) / AUDIO IN (SHIFT + VIDEO) buttons. 8. TC PRESET button Set the TC or UB value. To make a setting, first press this button to change the flashing digits. Note that this button is not available in thumbnail mode, USB device mode, LAN mode and browser mode. 9. RESET/NEW button RESET button Press this button when the LCD panel counter is in the CTL mode to reset the counter display to [0:00:00:00]. Hold down the TC PRESET button and press this button when the LCD panel counter is in the TC mode (read time code) or UB mode (user bit of the read time code) to reset the time code generator. When using the on-screen keyboard, use this button to delete all text, IN/OUT points in playlists, etc. NEW (SHIFT + RESET) button Use these buttons in the playlist. ➝Refer to "Creating a New Playlist" (page 91). 13.SHTL/SLOW button Press this button when the search dial is in SHTL (shuttle)/SLOW mode to toggle between SHTL (shuttle) and SLOW modes. 14.TEXT MEMO/MARKER button TEXT MEMO button Press this button during recording and playback where you wish to enter a text memo. In the thumbnail screen, press this button to add a text memo to a clip thumbnail (normally at the start of a clip). ➝Refer to "Attaching Text Memos" (page 61). SUPER switch
Switches the super output as follows.

Select to enable or disable recording to P2 cards.

Press to select signals in stop mode.

Set the TC or UB value. To make a setting, first press
this button to change the flashing digits.
Note that this button is not available in thumbnail
mode, USB device mode, LAN mode and browser
mode.

RESET button
Press this button when the LCD panel counter is in the
CTL mode to reset the counter display to [0:00:00:00].
Hold down the TC PRESET button and press this
button when the LCD panel counter is in the TC mode
(read time code) or UB mode (user bit of the read time
code) to reset the time code generator.
When using the on-screen keyboard, use this button to
delete all text, IN/OUT points in playlists, etc.
NEW (SHIFT + RESET) button
Use these buttons in the playlist.
Refer to “Creating a New Playlist” (page 91).
10.
COUNTER button
Press to switch the counter display of the LCD panel.
Each press of this button changes the counter display
as follows: [CTL (relative position from the beginning)]
[TC (read time code)]
[UB (user bit of the read
time code)].

Press this button to engage the search mode. Set the
search dial to the SHTL mode, turn it to the desired
position and press this button to start playback at the
speed set with the search dial.

Search dial
Use to search and check video. Each time you press
the dial, the SHTL (Shuttle)/SLOW mode and the JOG
mode are engaged alternatively. The respective
indicator lamp lights. When the power is turned on, the
search dial will not operate unless it is first returned to
the STILL position.

SHTL/SLOW button
Press this button when the search dial is in SHTL
(shuttle)/SLOW mode to toggle between SHTL (shuttle)
and SLOW modes.

TEXT MEMO/MARKER button
TEXT MEMO button
Press this button during recording and playback
where you wish to enter a text memo. In the thumbnail
screen, press this button to add a text memo to a clip
thumbnail (normally at the start of a clip).

MARKER (SHIFT + TEXT MEMO) button
In the thumbnail screen, hold down the SHIFT button
and press this button to turn the marker of the clip at
the pointer position on and off.

Press this button to play back video clip by clip.
