Troubleshooting Problem No picture. Short message displays do not appear on the video monitor. The sound suddenly goes off. Sound is heard from the speaker on one side only. Only the center speaker outputs substantial sound. No sound is heard from the center speaker. No sound is heard from the presence speakers. No sound is heard from the surround speakers. Cause Remedy Your video monitor is connected to one of the analog video output jacks of this unit and the picture is input at different types of video jacks. Set "Analog ` Analog" to "Conversion" or connect your source components in the same way as you connect your video monitor to this unit. 1080p-resolution analog video signals are Connect your video monitor to the COMPONENT only output at the COMPONENT VIDEO VIDEO MONITOR jacks. MONITOR OUT jacks. 480p-, 576p-, 1080i- and 720p-resolution video signals cannot be output at the S VIDEO and VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks. Connect your video monitor to the HDMI OUT or COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT jacks. This unit outputs the video signals not supported by the video monitor connected to the HDMI OUT jack. Select "VIDEO" in "INITIALIZE" to reset the video parameters. Set "MONITOR CHECK" to "YES". PURE DIRECT mode is active. Turn off the PURE DIRECT mode. Set "Pure Direct" to "Audio + Video". Non-standard video signals are input. "Short Message" is set to "Off". Set "Short Message" to "On". The protection circuitry has been activated because of a short circuit, etc. Check that the speaker impedance setting is correct. Check that the speaker wires are not touching each other and then turn this unit back on. The sleep timer has turned off this unit. Turn on this unit, and play the source again. Incorrect cable connections. Connect the cables properly. If the problem persists, the cables may be defective. The speaker level settings are incorrect. Adjust "Level" settings. When playing a monaural source with a CINEMA DSP program, the source signal is directed to the center channel, and the front and surround speakers output effect sounds. "Center" in "Configuration" is set to "None". Set "Center" to "Small" or "Large". This unit is in the "STRAIGHT" mode. You are using a source or program combination that does not output sound from all channels. "Surround" in "Configuration" is set to "None". This unit is in the "STRAIGHT" mode and a monaural source is being played back. The surround speakers are connected to the SURROUND BACK speaker terminals. Press NSTRAIGHT to turn off the "STRAIGHT" mode. Try another sound field program. Set "Surround" to "Small" or "Large". Press NSTRAIGHT to turn off the "STRAIGHT" mode.
