Troubleshooting Problem Cause Remedy An audio source cannot be recorded by the digital recording component connected to the DIGITAL OUTPUT jacks. The audio source component is not connected to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks. Some components cannot records Dolby Digital or DTS sources. You are trying to record an audio source input at the DOCK terminal by the digital recording component connected to the DIGITAL OUTPUT jacks. Connect the audio source component to the DIGITAL INPUT jacks. Connect the recording component to the analog AUDIO OUT (DVR, VCR or MD/CD-R) jacks. (U.S.A. model only) HD Radio signals are not output at the DIGITAL OUTPUT jacks Connect the recording component to the analog AUDIO OUT (DVR, VCR or MD/CD-R) jacks. An audio source cannot be recorded by the analog recording component connected to the analog AUDIO OUT (DVR, VCR or MD/ CD-R) jacks. The audio source component is not connected to the analog AUDIO IN jacks. XM Satellite Radio and SIRIUS Satellite Radio signals are not output at the analog AUDIO OUT (DVR, VCR or MD/CD-R) jacks. Connect the audio source component to the AUDIO IN jacks. Recorded materials sound differently. The settings made on this unit (such as tonal quality, volume level and sound field programs) do not affect recorded material. The sound field parameters and some other settings of this unit cannot be changed. "Memory Guard" is set to "On". Set "Memory Guard" to "Off". This unit does not operate properly. The internal microcomputer has been frozen by an external electric shock (such as lightning or excessive static electricity) or by a power supply with low voltage. Disconnect the power cable from the AC wall outlet and then plug it in again after about 30 seconds. "CHECK SP WIRES" appears in the front panel display. Speaker cables are short-circuited. Make sure all speaker cables are connected correctly. There is noise interference from digital or radio frequency equipment. This unit is too close to the digital or highfrequency equipment. Move this unit further away from such equipment. The picture is disturbed. The video source uses scrambled or encoded signals to prevent dubbing. This unit suddenly enters the standby mode. The internal temperature becomes too high and the overheat protection circuitry has been activated. Wait about 1 hour for this unit to cool down and then turn it back on.
