12 Specify the rotation angle around the duct segment: If you want to specify the... then... rotation angle on the X axis click the X cell under Rotate Around, drag the takeoff around the X axis, and then select a position. TIP Once you have added the takeoff, you can rotate it using Rotate grips. Converting a Line to Duct Use this procedure to convert a line into a duct run using the Duct Convert command. You can define the path of a segment with an AutoCAD® line and then convert this line into a duct segment. To create a duct segment from a line 1 Define the curve of the segment path with the AutoCAD Line command. 2 On the command line, enter ductconvert. 3 Select the line you want to convert, and press ENTER. 4 Do one of the following: ■ Press ENTER or enter n (no) to leave the layout geometry in the drawing. ■ Enter y (yes) to erase the layout geometry from the drawing. 5 In the Modify Duct dialog, specify a System, Elevation, Shape, Part, and Size, and then click OK. If you specify a flow capacity for the duct, you can calculate size using the instant sizing tool. See Modifying Duct on page 232 for more information. Converting a Polyline to Flexible Duct Use this procedure to convert a polyline, line, arc, or spline into a flexible duct or run using the Convert Flex Duct command. You can define the path of the run using polylines, lines, arcs, splines, or a combination of these objects, and then convert these objects into a flexible duct run. To create flexible run from a polyline 1 Define the curve of the layout path with either the AutoCAD Fillet or Spline command. 2 Select the polyline, line, arc, or spline you want to convert, right-click, and click Convert to ➤ Flex Duct. Converting a Line to Duct

Use this procedure to convert a line into a duct run using the Duct Convert command. You can define the
