Configuring Justification for Pipe Insertion, Specifying Cut Length

Any connection type designated as Undefined that attaches to a female connector type in a drawing will display as male and will reflect the selection made in this dialog. NOTE Male or female connection types must adhere to rules for connection behavior on page 652 based on the CEL on page 267 value. Connector assignments originate from the catalog content. Configuring Justification for Pipe Insertion The software sets the horizontal and vertical justification for pipe insertion to the centerline of the pipe. The centerline of the resulting pipe segments and fittings will be placed along the points you specify as you draw pipe runs. The elevation specifies the height location for vertical justification. A pipe object justified along its centerline To set justification and horizontal and vertical offsets ➤ On the Properties palette on page 286, under Placement ➤ Justification, specify the justification settings for pipe insertion: If you want to... then... align the pipeline centerline along the under Justification, specify Center for Horizontal and Vertical. Specifying Cut Length 1 Start the Add Pipes command on page 291. 2 On the Properties palette on page 286, under Dimensions, choose Yes to specify a cut length for the pipe run. 3 Enter a cut length value. Consider this scenario. If a pipe system is going to be fabricated from 10-foot long pipes, you can configure pipe layout preferences so that straight pipe runs are automatically broken into 10-foot intervals as you draw them. Joints are automatically added at the break interval. The resulting pipes and couplings are still connected as a pipe system.
