Moving Duct Components You can move duct segments, duct fittings, and parts using Location grips. If the object is connected to a system, you can choose to move connected objects to maintain connectivity. You can move the object in the current XY plane only. NOTE For information on modifying the elevation, see Modifying the Elevation of HVAC Parts and Ducts on page 222. To move a duct segment, duct fitting, or part 1 Select the object to move. An example of a Location grip for a duct segment. 2 Click the Location grip (blue square) on the selected object. 3 Specify the new location for the part: If you want to... then... move the object while maintaining connectivity, and keep the location of MvParts fixed click the Location grip and specify the new location for the object. Note that any MvPart remains fixed. If an MvPart is oriented along the same vector as the object, the object remains fixed also. move the object while maintaining connectivity with connected objects, and move any MvParts oriented along the same vector as the object click the Location grip and press ctrl once. Specify the new location for the object. Note that the MvPart moves with the object to a new location. move the object by itself, breaking connectivity with the system click the Location grip and press ctrl twice. Specify the new location for the object. If you maintained connectivity, note that the connected objects in the same plane stretched in the direction of the move.
