Control panel setup WIRELESS See Using the control panel NETWORK menu to configure your wireless network printer (in infrastructure mode) on page 3-6 for more information. ■ SecureEasySetup 8 You can configure the wireless network settings using SecureEasySetupTM. See Using SecureEasySetupTM to configure your printer in a wireless network on page 3-4. ■ COMM.MODE This field shows the current network communication mode; AD-HOC or INFRASTRUCTURE. ■ LIST SSID This field shows a list of available names for the wireless networks (SSID) within range. You can select the SSID from the list. See SSID on page 3-1. ■ SSID You can enter the SSID name for the wireless network you want to connect with (uses a maximum of 32 digits and characters 0-9, a-z and A-Z in ASCII values). See SSID on page 3-1. ■ CHANNEL This field shows the currently used channel in an Ad-hoc mode. See Channels on page 3-2. ■ AUTHENTICATION You can select an authentication mode; OPEN SYSTEM, SHARED KEY, WPA-PSK or LEAP. You can select SHARED KEY, WPA-PSK or LEAP when INFRASTRUCTURE is selected in COMM.MODE. See Authentication methods on page 3-2. ■ ENCRYPTION You can select an encryption type; NONE, WEP, TKIP, AES or CKIP. See Encryption methods on page 3-3. ■ WEP KEY SELECT You can select a WEP key; KEY1, KEY2, KEY3 or KEY4. See Network key on page 3-3. ■ WEP KEY1 (2, 3 or 4) SIZE You can select an either size of WEP KEY1 (2, 3 or 4); 64(40)BITS or 128(104)BITS. See Network key on page 3-3. ■ WEP KEY1 (2, 3 or 4) TYPE You can select a format of WEP KEY1 (2, 3 or 4); ASCII or HEX (hexadecimal). See Network key on page 3-3. ■ WEP KEY1 (2, 3 or 4) You can enter a new WEP key for each WEP KEY number; 1, 2, 3 or 4. See Network key on page 3-3. ■ PASSPHARASE If you have selected WPA-PSK for an authentication mode, you will need to enter a network key that is more than 7 and less than 64 characters in length. ■ USER If you have selected LEAP for an authentication mode, you will need to enter a user ID that is 64 characters or less in length. 8 - 9
