10 Connect the cables to the expansion card. See Figure 3-36 and Figure 3-37. NOTE: Route the data cables connecting the expansion-card riser to the mezzanine interface card through the cable management clip to ensure that the chassis cover slides in without obstruction when you close the blade. See Figure 3-36. 11 Close the blade. See "Closing the Blade" on page 159. 12 Install the blade. See "Installing a Blade" on page 148. 13 Turn on the blade and install any device drivers required for the card as described in the documentation for the card. Removing an Expansion Card CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product. 1 Open the blade. See "Opening the Blade" on page 149. 2 Disconnect all cables from the expansion card to be removed. See Figure 3-36 and Figure 3-37. 3 If present, pull the shipping lock upwards and pull the latch-release tab. 4 Rotate the expansion-card retention latch away from the blank until it snaps in to position under the latch-release tab. See Figure 3-35. 5 Loosen the captive screw and rotate the filler-bracket retention latch open. See Figure 3-35. 6 Grasp the expansion card by its edges and carefully remove it from the expansion-card connector. 220 Installing Blade Components
