Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions. 2. Follow the procedure listed in Before working inside your system. 3. Remove the air shroud. 4. If removed, install the expansion cards into the expansion card risers. NOTE: Install Riser 2 blank and Riser 3 blank before installing Riser 1. CAUTION: Do not install GPUs, network cards, or other PCIe devices on your system that are not validated and tested by Dell. Damage caused by unauthorized and invalidated hardware installation will null and void the system warranty. Steps 1. Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser with the guides on the system board. NOTE: Store the riser blanks for future use. Filler brackets must be installed in empty expansion card slots to maintain Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification of the system. The brackets also keep dust and dirt out of the system and aid in proper cooling and airflow inside the system 2. Lower the expansion card riser into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector. 3. Tighten the captive screws on the risers and system if any. 122 Installing and removing system components
