Cooling fans Removing the cooling fan cage assembly Prerequisites 1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions. 2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system. 3. If installed, remove the air shroud. 4. Disconnect the cables from system board that pass through the cooling fan cage assembly cable latch. 5. Open cable access latch to remove the cables and place them towards system front. Steps 1. Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system. 2. Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system. Figure 31. Removing the cooling fan cage assembly
Prerequisites
1.

2.
Follow the procedure listed in the
Before working inside your system

3.
If installed,
remove the air shroud
.
4.
Disconnect the cables from system board that pass through the cooling fan cage assembly cable latch.
5.
Open cable access latch to remove the cables and place them towards system front.
Steps
1.
Lift the blue release levers to unlock the cooling fan cage assembly from the system.
2.
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
