B Notices This appendix includes safety instructions and other important information about your projector. Important Safety Instructions Follow these safety instructions when setting up and using the projector: ■ Do not look into the lens when the projector is on. The bright light can damage your eyes. ■ Do not operate the projector on its side, or while tilted to one side. Do not tilt the projector forward or back at a greater angle than that specified for keystone correction (see page 144). ■ The projector should be installed by qualified technicians using mounting hardware designed for use with this projector. ■ If you apply adhesives to the mount to prevent the screws from loosening, or if you use lubricants or oils on the projector, the projector case may crack and the projector may fall from its mount. This could cause serious injury to anyone under the mount and could damage the projector. When installing or adjusting the mount, do not use adhesives to prevent the screws from loosening and do not use oils or lubricants. ■ Do not use the projector where it may be exposed to rain, water, or excessive humidity. ■ Unplug the projector from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a dry cloth (or, for stubborn dirt or stains, a moist cloth that has been wrung dry) for cleaning. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. ■ Never spill liquid of any kind into the projector. ■ Do not use the projector where it may be exposed to excessive dust or smoke. ■ Never push objects of any kind through the cabinet slots. ■ Do not use or store the projector or remote control in a hot location, such as near a heater, in direct sunlight, or in a closed vehicle. 149
