Note Configuring TCP/IP Parameters To configure TCP/IP parameters, you can use the HP JetAdmin software that is included on the printer's software CD-ROM. If you choose not to use this utility or are using a UNIX system other than HP-UX, Solaris, or SunOS, you can use the printer control panel to configure the following TCP/IP parameters: q Usage of the BOOTP file for configuration parameters (the default is to use the BOOTP file) q IP address (4 bytes) q Subnet mask (4 bytes) q Default gateway (4 bytes) q TCP connection timeout (in seconds) Do not disable BOOTP if you will be using RARP or DHCP to configure TCP/IP parameters. To configure TCP/IP parameters from the printer control panel 1 Press MENU until HP EIO 1 MENU displays. 2 Press ITEM until CFG NETWORK=NO * displays. 3 Press VALUE until CFG NETWORK=YES displays. 4 Press SELECT once. CFG NETWORK=YES * displays. 5 Press ITEM until CFG TCP/IP=NO * displays. 6 Press VALUE once. CFG TCP/IP=YES displays. 7 Press SELECT once. CFG TCP/IP=YES * displays. 8 Press ITEM to configure TCP/IP parameters manually. BOOTP=YES * displays. 106 Printer Interfaces EN
