Operations Commands Introduction Operations-level commands are used for making immediate and temporary changes to switch configuration. Operations commands are used for bringing ports temporarily in and out of service. These commands are available only from an administrator and operator login. The following table describes basic Operations commands. The following sections provide more detailed information and commands. Table 174 Operations commands Command password clear logging ntp send Description Allows the user to change the password. You need to enter the current password in use for validation. Clears all Syslog messages. Command Mode: Priv EXEC Allows the user to send requests to the NTP server. Command Mode: Priv EXEC Operations-level port options Operations-level port options are used for temporarily disabling or enabling a port. Table 175 Operations-Level Port commands Command Description [no] rmon Enables or disables Remote Monitoring for the port. RMON must be enabled for any RMON configurations to function. Command mode: Interface port no interface port shutdown Temporarily enables the port. The port will be returned to its configured operation mode when the switch is reloaded. Command Mode: Priv EXEC NOTE: This command does not enable a port that has been disabled by an ekeying mismatch error. interface port shutdown Temporarily disables the port. The port will be returned to its configured operation mode when the switch is reloaded. Command Mode: Priv EXEC show interface port operation Displays the current settings for the port. Command Mode: Priv EXEC Operations-level port 802.1x options Operations-level port 802.1x options are used to temporarily set 802.1x parameters for a port. Table 176 Operations-Level Port 802.1x commands Command interface port dot1x init Description Re-initializes the 802.1x access-control parameters for the port. The following actions take place, depending on the 802.1x port configuration: • force unauth - the port is placed in unauthorized state, and traffic is blocked. • auto - the port is placed in unauthorized state, then authentication is initiated. • force auth - the port is placed in authorized state, and authentication is not required. Introduction
Operations-level commands are used for making immediate and temporary changes to switch configuration.
Operations commands are used for bringing ports temporarily in and out of service. These commands are available
only from an administrator and operator login.
The following table describes basic Operations commands. The following sections provide more detailed information
and commands.
