Chapter 10 Configuring the HP NetServer Custom Configuration Select Custom if you are experienced in NetServer configuration and have a preferred sequence of steps, or if you prefer to configure your system one component at a time. In Custom configuration mode, you perform the same configuration steps as provided in Express configuration mode, but these can be done in any order. After you have selected the NOS, version, and NOS installation mode (automated or manual), and after you have viewed the Configuration Advisories, the Custom Configuration screen displays the following menu: Essential Steps • Configure Remote Management: This executes the Integrated Remote Assistant configuration utility. • Configure Disk Array: This configures your HP disk array, but requires you to fill out the Disk Array Configuration Worksheet before proceeding. Click Help for more details. • Execute Card Utilities: This executes the available configuration utilities for installed cards. • Create Drivers Diskette(s): SCSI IDE HP NetRaid Adapter and video adapter drivers for MS Windows NT 4.0 on HP NetServers. Recommended Steps • Update System BIOS: This utility will update the system BIOS. The utility partition, if installed, will also be updated. • Install Utility Partition: Installs utility partition to the boot or system drive. This is not available under SCO UnixWare. • Show System Information: Shows hardware inventory and system resource (interrupts, I/O space) allocation. 114
