Requirements for using Windows NFS clients To use a Windows client with FS Option, complete the following configuration steps. 1. Configure locking. Use one of the following methods: • On the server side, enable locking with the mxnlmconfig -e command. • Use the mount -o nolock option on the Microsoft NFS client command line. 2. Set up user mappings between Windows and Linux so that Windows users can authenticate when mounting the NFS exports on Linux hosts. Use one of the following methods: • Install and configure the User Name Mapping service. (By default, this service is not installed when you install the Microsoft Client for NFS via Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components > Other Network File And Print Services > Microsoft Services for NFS). • Store UNIX identities in Active Directory. 3. Use one of the following methods: • Configure the UseReservedPorts registry key on the client side. • Export with the insecure option on the server side. If these requirements are not met, errors such as "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service" will appear. Using the NLM protocol NLM is the locking protocol used by NFS. With the exception noted below, NLM is disabled by default when FS Option is installed. NOTE: The NLM locking protocol is enabled by default on HP X5500 Storage Gateway for Linux, HP Scalable NAS Clustered Gateway, and HP 4000 Scalable NAS systems. Requirements for using Windows NFS clients
To use a Windows client with FS Option, complete the following configuration steps.

Configure locking. Use one of the following methods:
On the server side, enable locking with the
