Administrative filesystem The HP Scalable NAS administrative filesystem has been created on a 50GB vdisk that is mounted on /_adminfs. For more information about the administrative filesystem, see Create the administrative filesystem, page 139. Add new filesystems Use the following procedure to add a new filesystem to the cluster. 1. Use Command View on ABM to configure the LUNs to be used for the filesystem and make them visible to all HP 4400 Scalable NAS systems in the cluster. 2. Open the HP Scalable NAS Management Console, which can be used for the following steps. 3. Import the disks into the cluster. This step allows the cluster to control access to the disks. See Chapter 6, page 85. 4. Create a dynamic volume. Dynamic volumes allow large PSFS filesystems to span multiple disks or LUNs. See Chapter 7, page 103. 5. Create the new filesystem with the appropriate options such as block size and disk quotas. See Chapter 8, page 121. 6. Mount the new filesystem. See Mount a filesystem, page 132. For filesystems that will be exported via NFS, also see Mount PSFS filesystems, page 165. Membership partitions HP Scalable NAS uses a set of membership partitions to control access to the SAN and to store certain cluster configuration information. The membership partitions are located on three 1GB vdisks in the array. Write access to the membership partitions is disabled to prevent accidental corruption from other applications.
