The virtualized NFSD RPC reply cache feature allows the state of the NFSD RPC reply cache to be associated with the relevant virtualized NFS server (vhost) and transferred together with the virtualized NFS server. NOTE: This feature is enabled by default on HP 4400 Scalable NAS systems. The mxfsreplycachebasename command can be used to enable or disable virtualized NFSD RPC reply caches. To enable virtualized NFSD RPC reply caches, take the following steps: 1. Create a directory for the reply cache. HP recommends that the directory be placed in the administrative filesystem (for example, _adminfs/protocols/ nfs_1/reply_cache). The administrative filesystem must be created manually and must be mounted on all nodes. For more information, see "Create the administrative filesystem" on page 139. 2. Enable the virtualized NFSD RPC reply cache feature, specifying the directory that you created as the path: /opt/hpcfs/bin/mxfsreplycachebasename --set mxfsreplycachebasename affects the entire cluster, is persistent, and takes effect immediately. To disable the feature, use this command: /opt/hpcfs/bin/mxfsreplycachebasename --disable Use the following command to show the current status of the virtualized NFSD reply caches in the cluster (either enabled or disabled).
