The rplwatch process watches the PSFS filesystems and directories that are included in the replication set specified in the configuration file. (There is a separate instance of the process for each directory.) For each replication interval, rplwatch verifies that the filesystem is mounted and then creates log files noting any files that have been added, changed, or deleted during the interval. The process also starts worker threads to perform the data transfer at the end of each replication interval. When replication has finished an interval, it immediately begins monitoring file changes for the next interval. Under normal circumstances, replication is always running; there is no quiescent period between intervals. The rplcontrol utility controls the replication state by sending commands (such as start or stop commands) to the cluster or to individual nodes.
