11 Manage hardware snapshots HP Scalable NAS provides support for taking hardware snapshots of PSFS filesystems. The subdevices on which the filesystems are located must reside on one or more storage arrays that are supported for snapshots. Snapshot support can be configured either on the Management Console "Configure Cluster" window or with the mx config snapshot command. (See the HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software installation guide for more information.) This procedure creates a snapshot configuration file on each server. Supported arrays Hardware snapshots are supported on HP MSA2000, EVA, and XP storage arrays and also supported on Engenio storage arrays. HP MSA2000 storage arrays To take hardware snapshots on HP StorageWorks 2000 Modular Smart Array (MSA2000) storage arrays, the latest version of firmware must be installed on the array controllers and the SSH Command Line Interface (CLI) service must be enabled on the array controllers. Also, note that a MSA2000 snapshot license is required. Only the filesystems located on Master Volumes (not Standard Volumes) are snapshot capable. To locate MSA2000 array controller firmware or snapshot license information, contact your HP representative. IMPORTANT: It is extremely important that all LUNs mapped to cluster hosts be mapped in the same manner. If any are mapped explicitly to host ports, they all must be mapped explicitly to host ports. If any are mapped to the "all hosts" default mapping, they all must be mapped to the "all hosts" default mapping. Mapping cluster host LUNs inconsistently and taking snapshots can cause problems where imported volumes disappear and/or snapshot volumes fail to be imported. 11 Manage hardware snapshots

HP Scalable NAS provides support for taking hardware snapshots of PSFS filesystems.

The subdevices on which the filesystems are located must reside on one or more

storage arrays that are supported for snapshots.

Snapshot support can be configured either on the Management Console
