6. Enable the HP Scalable NAS startup script. Run this command: # /sbin/chkconfig --add pmxs 7. Start HP Scalable NAS: # /etc/init.d/pmxs start NOTE: The /etc/hba.conf file must point to the correct hbaapi library. Install a driver not provided with HP Scalable NAS If your system configuration requires that you use an HBA driver version not provided with HP Scalable NAS, you can install that driver version on the system. The new driver will then override the corresponding driver included with HP Scalable NAS. (HP Scalable NAS must be installed on your system before you install the HBA driver.) In general, you will need to do the following: • Download the driver version from your source vendor. • Build the driver and install it on your system. • Modify the HP Scalable NAS fc_pcitable file to point to the location of the driver. Following is the complete procedure for modifying the fc_pcitable file, which is located in the /etc/opt/hpcfs directory. 1. Stop HP Scalable NAS if it is currently running: # /etc/init.d/pmxs stop 2. Disable the HP Scalable NAS startup script. Type this command: # /sbin/chkconfig --del pmxs 3. Reboot the server. 4. Run the lspci(8) command to determine the vendor ID and device ID of the FC host bus adapters on the server. HP Scalable NAS File Serving Software administration guide 379
