4 BASIC OPERATION N Mode selection D VFO mode VFO mode is used to set the desired frequency. ± Push [V/MHz] to select VFO mode. • VFO mode indication D Memory mode Memory mode is used for operation on memory channels which store programmed frequencies. q Push [M/CALL] to select memory mode. • " " appears when memory mode is selected. • Push [M/CALL] several times to select call channels/TV* channels/Weather† channels. Memory/Call/TV*/Weather† channels can be selected in sequence. • Memory mode indication What is VFO? VFO is an abbreviation of Variable Frequency Oscillator. Frequencies for both transmitting and receiving are generated and controlled by the VFO.
