Handling Your Computer Remove the battery pack and keep it in a cool place if you will not be using the computer for a long period. Creating the Hibernation Function Your computer can enter hibernation mode if you create the hibernation function. Note: Hibernation works only in Windows 98 or Windows 95. There are two ways you can create the hibernation function: File-based hibernation Note: Defragment your hard disk drive before creating a hibernation file. Partition-based hibernation For Windows 98 and Windows 95: To create the hibernation file or partition, do as follows: 1. Turn off your computer. 2. Insert the Hibernation Utility Diskette into the diskette drive. Note: You can create the Hibernation Utility Diskette using the Diskette Factory (see "Using the Diskette Factory" on page 118). 3. Turn on the computer. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen. Note: If you change the memory size, you need to re-create the hibernation file or partition. For partition-based hibernation, use the hibernation utility to delete the partition first before creating a new one.
