Removing the hot-swap SAS/SATA hard disk drive backplane To remove the hot-swap SAS/SATA hard disk drive backplane, complete the following steps: 1. Read the safety information in Chapter 2 "Safety information" on page 3 and "Installation guidelines" on page 67. 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords. 3. Remove the cover (see "Removing and replacing the cover" on page 72). 4. Pull the hard disk drives out of the server slightly to disengage them from the backplane. 5. Disconnect the power cable from the power backplane. 6. Disconnect the signal cable from the system board. 7. Lift up to remove the backplane from the slots. 8. Push backwards on the backplane until it is clear of the slots. 9. Lift the backplane out of the server. 10. If you are instructed to return the backplane, follow all packaging instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you. Removing the hot-swap SAS/SATA hard disk drive backplane
To remove the hot-swap SAS/SATA hard disk drive backplane, complete the following steps:
1.
Read the safety information in Chapter 2 “Safety information” on page 3 and “Installation guidelines”
on page 67.
2.
Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords.
3.
Remove the cover (see “Removing and replacing the cover” on page 72).
4.
Pull the hard disk drives out of the server slightly to disengage them from the backplane.
5.
Disconnect the power cable from the power backplane.
6.
Disconnect the signal cable from the system board.
7.
Lift up to remove the backplane from the slots.
8.
Push backwards on the backplane until it is clear of the slots.
9.
Lift the backplane out of the server.
10.Disconnect the power cable and the signal cable from the disk drive backplane.
