Removing and installing the system board To remove and install the system board, complete the steps in this section. Removing the system board To remove the system board, complete the following steps. Notes: 1. When you replace the system board, make sure that you remove IMM Premium and place it on the new system board. 2. When you replace the system board, you must either update the server with the latest firmware or restore the pre-existing firmware that the customer provides on a diskette or CD image. Make sure that you have the latest firmware or a copy of the pre-existing firmware before you proceed. 1. Read the safety information in Chapter 2 "Safety information" on page 3 and "Installation guidelines" on page 67. 2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all power cords; then, remove the cover (see "Removing and replacing the cover" on page 72).
