GS752TXS and GS728TXS Smart Switches Move the Stack Manager Role to a Different Unit in the Stack When you force a switch to become the new stack manager, the entire stack (including all interfaces in the stack) is unconfigured and reconfigured with the configuration on the new stack manager. After the reload is complete, all stack management must be performed on the new stack manager. To preserve the current configuration across a stack move, save the current configuration to the NVRAM before performing the stack move. A stack move causes all routes and layer 2 addresses to be lost.  To change the stack manager from the current switch to a new switch in the stack: 1. Select System  Stacking  Basic  Stack Configuration. The Stack Configuration screen displays. 2. Select the check box associated with the switch that will become the stack manager. 3. In the Switch Priority list, select 15. 4. In the Management Status list, select Management. 5. Confirm the move. The operation can take three minutes or longer depending on the stack size and configuration. 6. Monitor the Stack Configuration screen to verify that all units have rejoined the stack 7. Reboot the stack. a. Select Maintenance > Reset > Device Reboot. b. In the Reboot Unit No. list, select All. c. Select the check box. d. Click Apply. 87

Monitor the Stack Configuration screen to verify that all units have rejoined the stack

Reboot the stack.
