Messages 2 If more than one message profile set is supported by your SIM card, select the set you want to change; then select one of the following: Message center number-Save the phone number of the message center, which is necessary for sending text messages; obtain this number from your service provider. Messages sent as-Select the message type Text, E-mail, or Page. Message validity-Define how long the network attempts to send your messages before it gives up. Default recipient number-For text messages, the default number used to send messages. Delivery reports-Request the network to send delivery reports on your messages. Use GPRS-Set GPRS as the preferred method of sending text messages. Reply via same center-Allow the recipient of your message to send you a reply message using your message center (network service). Rename sending profile-Change the name of the selected profile. This option is available only if your SIM card supports multiple sending profiles. It is not available for the default profile. 3 Follow the prompts to change the selected setting. SAVE YOUR MESSAGE CENTER NUMBER Messages sent by your phone are routed through your service provider's message center. Normally, this number is saved to your phone by your service provider. To save the number manually, do the following: 1 From the menus, select Messages > Message settings > Text messages > Sending profile > Default profile > Message center number. 2 If the box in the display is empty or contains an incorrect number, enter the number given by your service provider, and select OK. OR If the box in the display contains the correct number, select OK. A message appears in the display confirming your number is saved. OVERWRITE TEXT, PICTURE, AND E-MAIL MESSAGES When the message memory is full, your phone cannot send or receive any new messages. However, you can set your phone to automatically replace old messages in the Inbox and Sent items folders when new ones arrive.
