CHAPTER YOUR PHONE 4 TIP You can also turn your smartphone off by pressing Power and selecting Power off. Making calls from the Home screen Waking up the screen After a designated period of inactivity, your smartphone screen turns off, even though your smartphone is still powered on. If the screen turns off, wake up the screen by pressing any key. If you press End , you automatically go to the Home screen after you wake up the screen. If you press any other key, the last screen you were using is displayed. TIP You can change the time interval for the period of inactivity that takes place before the screen turns off. Press Home, press Start (left softkey), navigate to the My Settings content list, and then press All Settings (right softkey). Select More, and then select Power Management. Select the Display time out list and specify how many minutes the screen stays on during a period of inactivity. Your smartphone offers several ways to make phone calls from the Home screen. Dialling from the Home screen BEFORE YOU BEGIN Make sure your phone is on and that you're inside a coverage area (see Turning your phone on). 1 Press Home . 2 Using the numbered keys (and the +,*, and # keys, if needed) on the keyboard, enter a phone number.
