YOUR MICROSOFT OFFICE TOOLS 8 CHAPTER Synchronizing your Microsoft Office files You can edit Microsoft Office files on your computer or on your smartphone and then synchronize your files so that changes you make show up on both your computer and your smartphone. To synchronize Microsoft Office files that are on your smartphone, you must set the Files sync option on your smartphone; see Setting synchronization options. Synchronized files are stored in your WM__My Documents folder on your computer. TIP If you have trouble finding your synchronized Microsoft Office files, connect your smartphone to your computer, look in the Mobile Device folder, and then copy the files into a folder on your computer. To synchronize your Microsoft Office files: 1 Open My Computer or Windows Explorer on your computer. 2 Copy the file into the WM__My Documents located in the My Documents folder on your computer. (You should also have a shortcut to this folder on the Windows desktop of your computer.) 3 Synchronize. After you synchronize, follow these steps to find your Microsoft Office files on your smartphone: 1 Press Start and select Programs. 2 Select File Explorer . 3 Select the Show list in the upper-left corner and select My Device > My Documents. Word Mobile You can create and edit documents and templates and save them as DOC, RTF, TXT, and DOT files. You can also edit Microsoft® Office Word® documents and templates that you create on your computer.
