Message Serial Error * may be shown only if you installed the optional serial interface card. Tray 1 Open Tray 2 Open Wait Image Status The printer detects a serial interface error. The Tray1 is open. The Tray2 is open. The firmware programme in the printer has been damaged. Do this... Set the baud rate the same as the setting on your computer. Close the Tray1 to clear the message. Close the Tray2 to clear the message. You need to download the programme to the printer again. Contact your local Samsung dealer. Common Windows Problems Problem "File in Use" message appears during installation. "Error Writing to LPTx" message appears. "General Protection Fault", "Exception OE", "Spool32", or "Illegal Operation" messages appear. Possible Cause and Solution Exit all software applications. Remove all software from the StartUp Group, then restart Windows. Reinstall the printer driver. • Ensure that the cables are connected correctly, the printer is on. • If bi-directional communication is not turned on in the driver, it will also cause this message. Close all other applications, reboot Windows and try printing again.
